A cosmically compelling challenge, developing a device that formed part of Joel Chan’s exhibit at the Lily Brooke Gallery. Constructing and fine-tuning a unique interactive art piece that was programmed to generate real-random phone numbers from ambient radio waves. Once plucked from the ether our device then sent messages to these numbers such as “I have just won the lottery. Love J x”. At which point a mechanised pen plotter, built and programmed by us, then artificially hand wrote the responses on greeting cards, casting them onto the gallery floor for visitors to take home.
